Authorize Us
The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) has introduced a new authorization process for income tax clients to enhance security and protect your information. For new clients, this means CRA now requires the tax payer to authorize through their CRA My Account before allowing tax professionals to access or act on your behalf.
While this step may add a small amount of time at the beginning, it helps ensure your personal and financial details remain secure.

Option 1

Log into your My CRA Account. If you do not yet have a My CRA Account, you can register by following the steps on CRA’s website: Register for a CRA Account
Please note, before starting the process to create a My CRA Account, you will need access to the following information:

Social Insurance Number (SIN)

Date of Birth
-
Your most recently filed and assessed tax return (within the last 2 years)

Valid form of ID (e.g., driver's license, passport)

On the left hand side navigation menu, select profile

Select "View Authorized Representatives" to view all current representatives

Select "Authorize New Representative"

Select "Start", then enter our business number

One confirmed, you should then see Olafson & Jones listed as an authorized representative on your account
Option 2

Complete the form below and submit to our secure client file upload below
You will be asked to provide the following information:

Full name (as on file with CRA)

Social Insurance Number (SIN)

Date of Birth
-
Your most recent Notice of Assessment (this is atleast 6 months old)

Once we have this information, we will generate an authorization form that we will return to you for signature

Please sign and return a copy of the signed form to our office (either in person or through the secure file upload as found below)

We will file the form with CRA to add Olafson & Jones as authorized representatives
